Everything you need to know about playing QuickDarts

How to Play

Throwing a Dart

1 Press and hold your finger on the part of the board you're aiming for. The dart appears under your finger.
2 Pull back slightly, then flick your finger upwards and let go.
3 A quick, straight flick is the most accurate. Flick too slowly and the dart won't release; drift sideways and it will scatter.

New to the game? Choose Play Tutorial on the main menu at any time to practise the throwing action.

Game Modes

  • 301, 501 and 701: count down to exactly zero, finishing on a double (the bull counts as a double). Going below zero, leaving 1, or reaching zero without a double is a bust: the visit doesn't count and your score goes back to what it was at the start of the visit.
  • Cricket: hit 15 to 20 and the bull three times each to close them (a double counts twice, a treble three times). Hits on a number you've closed score points until your opponent closes it too. Close everything with at least as many points as your opponent to win.
  • Practice: throw freely with no opponent.

Match Length

For 301, 501 and 701, choose how many legs to play (best of 1, 3, 5 or 7). Turn on Play in sets to play a match of sets (best of 3 or 5), each made up of legs. Game Setup shows a summary of what you've chosen, for example "First to 3 legs wins a set · first to 2 sets wins the match".

AI Player Standard

  • Beginner: ideal while you're learning.
  • Pub: a solid player who'll punish loose darts.
  • County: a strong finisher who will test your doubles.

The Scoreboard

The scoreboard shows each player's score, sets and legs, and recent visits. On a finishable score (2 to 170) it suggests a checkout route, such as "T20 T19 D12". The score announcer calls your visit totals, and tells you what you require when you're on a finish.

Pausing

Tap the pause button in the top-right corner to resume, restart or quit to the menu. On Android, the Back button also pauses the game.

Taking Turns

You'll see each of your opponent's darts land as they throw. You don't both need to be playing at the same time: take your turn, close the app, and come back later. Your games are listed under My Games on the main menu, where you can resume them or remove them with the ✕ button. Online games are deleted automatically 7 days after they're created.

Online play is available for 301, 501 and 701. Cricket and Practice are played against the AI or on your own.

Frequently Asked Questions

I can't hear any sound

On iPhone and iPad, make sure the ring/silent switch (or silent mode) is off and the volume is up: QuickDarts follows your device's silent setting. On Android, turn up the media volume. Also check Settings in the app, where Music, Sound Effects and Score Announcements can each be turned on or off.

My online game isn't updating

The app checks for your opponent's darts every couple of seconds, so make sure you're connected to the internet. If it still seems stuck, go back to the main menu and reopen the game from My Games. If your opponent hasn't taken their turn after a minute, the app offers to let you leave and come back later.

Why is my opponent shown as "Opponent"?

QuickDarts hides player names that contain offensive words. If a name is blocked, it's shown as "Opponent" instead.

Why won't the app accept my name?

Names must be 2 to 16 characters and can't contain offensive words. Please choose a different name.

How do I report a player?

Open My Games and tap Report player on the game. This opens an email to us with the game details already filled in. Just add what happened and send it. You can also email support@slimshotgames.com directly with the player's name. We'll review every report and take action.

Where is my data stored?

Your settings and statistics are stored only on your device. When you play online, your chosen name, a random player ID and the game itself are stored on our server so the match can be played. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

How do I find my player ID or delete my online data?

Tap the version number at the bottom of the main menu to copy your player ID. To have everything we hold for it deleted, email it to us at info@slimshotgames.com. Deleting the app removes all the data stored on your device.

What do the statistics show?

Your three-dart average, first-nine average, checkout percentage, best checkout, highest visit, darts thrown, games played and won, and your 180s, 140+ and 100+ visits.

Does QuickDarts work on iPad and Android tablets?

Yes. QuickDarts is available for iPhone, iPad and Android phones and tablets. The game is played in portrait.
